Each tick is one star.

How stars move

Win
One star, or 2 when you are new or clearly above your tier.
Lose
One star.
Star save
Lose with a high enough score and you keep your star. The bar rises with the tier.
Win streak
In Silver and below, from 3 wins in a row on, a win that would pay 1 star pays 1 more; no win pays more than 2.
Tier lock
Once you reach a tier, you stay in it for the rest of the season.
Draw
No stars move, and your entry fee comes back.
Leaving mid-match
Counts as a loss, and the entry fee is not returned.

Each tier in numbers

The entry fee rises with the tier, and a win pays back twice the fee.

Prizes

Promotion
The first time each season you reach a tier, you get 5 entry fees of that tier on the spot — Gold pays 25,000.
Season end
Play 10 matches in a season and the season pays 10 entry fees of your final tier, claimed in the lobby after it turns — Gold pays 50,000.

When gold runs short

Wood and Iron: entry is free while your gold is under 5× the fee, and a win pays 2,000. From Bronze up you need the fee to queue. Pro does not double ranked prizes.

Seasons

A season lasts about 3 months. When it turns, everyone drops some tiers and climbs again. In King, stars have no cap until the season ends.

Season 1 ends on December 31, 2026.

Opponents

Opponents are matched by skill. If none is found in 30 seconds, no match starts and nothing is charged.

Sentences

Questions get harder with the tier: Wood starts on short Everyday sentences, and TOEIC, TOEFL and IELTS vocabulary comes in higher up.
